Overseas students

UIC Barcelona welcomes international students from all over the world who wish to study in Barcelona.

The University has a special system for managing international admissions to its different centres and degree programmes.

Those interested in studying at the UIC Barcelona will have to take the following steps:

1. Application for admission

Complete the online application for admission

  • Admission application form

2. Required Documentation

Applicants without prior university studies
  1. Two passport size photos
  2. Photocopy of your passport
  3. Proof of payment of processing fees. (Payment forms will be provided once your application is complete)
  4. Signed document showing you accept the University’s general terms and conditions of admission and course reservation policies.
  5. Academic transcript covering the two most recent school years (photocopy) and providing their corresponding credit values according to the Spanish education system, or grade point average as validated by the UNED
  6. All materials redacted in languages other than Spanish must be accompanied by a certified translation thereof.
Applicants with uncomplete university studies
  1. Two passport size photos
  2. Photocopy of your passport
  3. Proof of payment of processing fees. (Payment forms will be provided once your application is complete)
  4. Signed document showing you accept the University’s general terms and conditions of admission and course reservation policies.
  5. Original notarised academic certificate and certified translation, if applicable

Applicants with some studies completed at a foreign university may request to have relevant credits transferred or recognised. To do so, you will need to submit:

  1. Programme curriculum (translated) bearing official University seal
  2. List of courses passed (translated) bearing official University seal.
Applicants with completed university studies

Applicants who have completed university studies abroad or who hold foreign degrees may apply either to have their degree officially recognised or to transfer applicable completed credits (but not both).

  1. This request will result in one of two possible outcomes:
  2. The foreign degree may be officially converted into the corresponding Spanish degree.
  3. The request may be denied. In this case, the student may apply to have completed credits transferred.

In order to sit for an entrance exam, you must submit the following documents to the University no less than five days prior to the testing date:

  1. Two passport size photos
  2. Photocopy of your passport
  3. Proof of payment of processing fees. (Payment forms will be provided once your application is complete)
  4. Signed document showing you accept the University’s general terms and conditions of admission and course reservation policies.
  5. Approval of the degree formally issued by the Ministry of Education, Social Policy, and Sport
  6. All materials redacted in languages other than Spanish must be accompanied by a certified translation thereof

To request a transfer of credits, you will additionally need to submit:

  1.     Programme curriculum (translated) bearing official University seal.
  2.     List of courses passed (translated) bearing official University seal..

3. Entrance exams

Applicants without degrees or diplomas must take the UIC general entrance exam according to their background

  1. Students from the European Union
  2. Students from outside the European Union
    Test of general intelligence
    Test of general cultural knowledge
    Test of English language skills
    Personal interview

Candidates with degrees or diplomas must submit academic records and credentials or attend a personal interview.

6. Level of Spanish language proficiency

To be admitted into a degree programme at the UIC, international students from non-Spanish speaking countries must demonstrate their Spanish language skills.

Applicants are offered two methods of doing this:

A.- Level B1 certification:
  • DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a foreign language) inicial level
  • B1 diploma granted by the student’s school or university
B.- Obligatory enrolment in a Spanish language course imparted at the University and encompassing:
  • Intensive course: from August to September (4 hours per day)
