Aceprensa, an agency specialising in journalism, and the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UIC Barcelona convened the first edition of the Seeing is Reading International Short Film Award, for university students aged 18 to 25. Under the title "Seeing is Reading", the competition aims to foster a passion for reading among young people through audiovisual projects that highlight the value of reading in a creative way.
Terms and conditions
Participants will be required to produce a short film of between 1:30 and 3 minutes where a passion for reading must be at the heart of the story. The audiovisual content must be original, previously unpublished and must be submitted under one single category. The shorts can be in Catalan, Spanish or English.
A selection committee consisting of members of Aceprensa and the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UIC Barcelona will pre-select those nominated for the award and a jury of specialists from the audiovisual sector and prestigious professionals will choose the winning entry.
First prize: 3,000 euros and a trophy Second prize: 1,500 euros and a trophy Third prize: 500 euros and a trophy
Your shorts must be sent via e-mail to email@example.com by 4 September 2020. The nominated shorts will be announced on 4 November 2020 on this same web page and the final verdict will be made on when a gala awards ceremony will take place for the winners.
