You can continue to support the University through a bequest or an endowment. By naming UIC Barcelona in your will, you will provide lasting help and a long-term commitment to the University. You can help us by leaving a fixed amount, property, or establishing a percentage of your total estate. As we are a foundation we are exempt from Inheritance or Donation Tax and so will receive the assets in full.
When you write your will, you need to state what you wish to bequeath to UIC Barcelona.
If you have heirs, you may leave part of your estate to the Foundation within the legally set limits. This is known as freely disposable property.
If you do not have any heirs, you may name UIC Barcelona as the sole heir.
Some examples of legacies that may be left to UIC Barcelona are:
Bequeath an amount of money or shares; works of art, or rights; insurance policies such as life insurance may also be bequeathed.
Bequeath a property or bare legal title, whilst leaving the usufruct (the right to enjoy or rent it for life) to a particular person you wish to support.
In addition, you may state that if the heir or heirs named by you should die before you, UIC Barcelona will become the sole heir.
Indicate a specific use for the funds, such as a specific area of research, annual grants in memory of a particular person, etc.
It is very important you clearly state the full name of the University as Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Fundació Privada, with registered offices at Immaculada, 22, 08017 Barcelona and tax ID: G-61737409.
The most recent will invalidates any previous wills.
