This month, we are offering the chance to hear first-hand the story of Olga Brajnovic, author of the book Una odisea de amor y guerra [An Odyssey of Love and War]. Olga is the third child of Luka and Anna, the main characters of a real novel set in the 1940s after the invasion of Kotor by Mussolini’s troops. Luka Brajnovic, a journalist, was arrested and forced to leave his pregnant wife, who he remained apart from for 12 years.
Following the long Communist dictatorship of Josip Broz, “Tito”, and time in exile, this true tale tells the story of how love triumphed over war.
In this work, Olga Brajnovic, a journalist specialising in international politics, conveys her rich cultural background. She has worked for agencies such as Colpisa and Efe, California; as a writer for the magazine El Semanal; as a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Sciences at the University of Navarra; and as a correspondent during the Balkan War.
How many people from the world of entertainment do you know? Have you ever had the chance to hear the life story of one of the world’s best jugglers?
At UIC Barcelona, we will have the opportunity to enjoy Paul Ponce's life story-performance. This young Argentinian juggler, the sixth generation of a family of artists, has performed shows all over the world.
Alongside his family -his wife and five small children-, we will discover what’s behind his personal story. The show will last approximately one hour.
This activity is co-directed by the UIC-UP student group.
