On Friday, 23 July 2010, Eduard Sanjuán, the director of the programme 30 Minuts on the television channel TV3, spoke at the Journalism and Audiovisual Communication graduation ceremony, and José Antonio García-Durán, the Head of the Department of Economic Theory at the Universitat de Barcelona, spoke at the Humanities graduation ceremony.
UIC Rector Dr. Josep Argemí presided over the University Council meeting on Friday, 23 July 2010, where some new features for the next academic year were announced. Once again, medals were awarded to all staff members who have been working at the UIC for the past 10 years.
Tarragona Provincial Council has just published the book Actes de les Jornades Internacionals d'Estudi sobre els orígens i l'expansió de l'orde del Temple a la Corona d'Aragó (1120-1200) (Proceedings from the International Conference on the Study of the Origins and Expansion of the Order of the Temple in the Crown of Aragon, 1120-1200). Its publication was jointly coordinated by Dr. Josep Serrano Daura, a Law Professor in the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, and Dr. Josep Maria Sans Travé, the Director of the National Archives of Catalonia, and is the result of a conference that took place in Tortosa in May 2004.
On Thursday, 8 July 2010, Business Administration professor Víctor Küppers, an expert in emotional intelligence and the author of the book El Efecto Actitud (the Attitude Effect), gave the main speech during the fifth LINK© session, a new conference that gives lecturers and administrative staff the opportunity to share knowledge and experience. The session was introduced by Dr. Jaume Armengou, the Vice Rector for Academic Organization and Teaching (VOAP). The session started with the presentation of five specific cases and culminated in Küppers' speech, which focused on how to have fun in the classroom.
