After nine years at the forefront of the institution, paediatrician Dr. Josep Argemí is succeeded by an industrial engineer from the UPC.
Dr. Núria Durany i Pich was the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Head of the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology. She had formed part of the Government Board in the role of Vice Rector of Research since 2006. She combined her management duties with research and teaching activities in the fields of neuroscience, molecular biology and microbiology.
The UIC plans to offer a unique programme in the 2010-2011 academic year: a double degree in Cultural Sciences and Political Sciences.
