Summer School agreement between UIC Barcelona and UC Berkeley
During the 2015-2016 academic year UIC Barcelona signed an agreement with the University of California Berkeley. The agreement involves sending UIC students to the Berkeley Summer School to undertake study visits that will receive academic accreditation. In other words, UIC Barcelona students take part of the credits for their degree programme during the summer, obtain an official transcript of records from Berkeley, and then these courses are added to their UIC Barcelona academic record.
UIC Barcelona: the only and first partner that Berkeley has involved in their summer school, out of their network of more than 70 partners worldwide.
The study visits were held between 23 May and 12 August, for a period of between 6 and 12 weeks.
The credits taken at Berkeley range between 12 and 24 ECTS (depending on the number of weeks the study visit is for). 1 ECTS is equivalent to 2 American units/credits.
There are also English language courses (Summer English Language studies)
UIC Barcelona students join class groups of students from UC Berkeley and from around the world.
All classes are taught in English.
