Since the academic year 2009-2010, the Master has been divided into two groups: one of them has classes held entirely in English.
Thanks to the implementation of the new structure for postgraduate university studies, and following five previous editions of the programme, the UIC Master’s in Cultural Management represents an official qualification with quality evaluation and offers complete training in the field of cultural management.
These new university studies, which fall under the new structure established by the European Area of Higher Education, combine an adequate duration with learning methods and the evaluation of academic activities carried out by European universities to promote students’ mobility and their professional integration into the European employment market and research fields.
The quality of the Master’s Degree Programme has been evaluated by the Agència per a la Qualitat del Sistema Universitari de Catalunya (AQU Catalunya) and the Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación (ANECA). Both are members of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and issue independent reports on curricula, lecturers, and the organization and fulfilment of the objectives of the programme in accordance with rigorous international standards.
The UIC Master’s carries a total of 60 ECTS credits for the academic year . The main elements of this programme revolve around: the balance between the theoretical and practical knowledge imparted by the different courses; the materials aimed at providing techniques and methods for managing culture; programmes focused on management within different industries, and the strong emphasis on the development of an entrepreneurial spirit in the students.
There is an extensive work experience element, facilitated by the UIC, which can be carried out in different cultural industries, along with the creation of a cultural project.
