The 12th Continuing Professional Development in Dentistry Conference is attended by almost 600 professionals
On 5 October, the Faculty of Dentistry held the 12th Continuing Professional Development in Dentistry Conference, which was attended by almost 600 professionals, even more than last year. The dentists, dental technicians and dental hygienists who took part had the opportunity to update their knowledge by attending more than 30 different conferences, workshops and clinical case studies. The various activities scheduled throughout the conference, run by the relevant experts, focused on the main specialities: periodontics, surgery, aesthetic, endodontics, orthodontics, paediatric, health management, integrated clinic and preventative.

In the words of Dr Lluís Giner, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, “for all of us forming part of the faculty it is a great satisfaction to have now held 12 Continuing Professional Development in Dentistry Conferences. The excellence of the conferences and discussions that take place has meant that the number of attendees has grown every year.” “Not only does this annual meeting of alumni and colleagues involve renowned companies within the industry, but this year other universities have also taken part, such as Universitat de Barcelona, Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá and the University of Montpellier,” Dr Giner notes.

As part of the 12th Continuing Professional Development in Dentistry Conference, Dr Miquel Cortada also awarded the prize for the best final Master’s degree project for academic year 2018-2019. This year it went to Beatriz Ripoll, student of the Master in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, with the study “Differences in the response to adeno-tonsillectomy in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) depending on age group.”
