In her lecture, the HR director for Spain and Portugal explained the company’s strategic plan

Technology plays a key role in the development of all companies, irrespective of size or market position. Though just as important as technological developments are the staff, who give life to the company. This is the philosophy implemented by multinationals such as MediaMarkt, as its director of Human Resources for Spain and Portugal, Josefa Solanilla, explained on 5 November, making it clear that “you can’t transform a company without the people”.

The very idea behind the company’s slogan: “2020 Tech & Human”. As Solanilla explained to the students from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, a business strategy is not solely based on technological innovation. “First you have to work with the people”, she pointed out. In this regard, Solanilla acknowledged the importance of hiring young talent and helping and training people who lack experience with this technology.

The HR director also explained to the students the foundation and core strengths of the department’s strategy; a strategy that takes into account both local and international business.
