On Monday, 3 May 2010, the TV advertisements produced by students in the first year of the Advertising and Public Relations degree were presented in the main lecture hall. The advertisements were created as part of a workshop that was held in the second-term Television Communication classes.
Eight groups presented their projects in English. This year, the objective was to create an advertisement that complied with the conditions of the www.mofilm.com competition to take part in the 2010 Cannes Lions Festival. The students had to follow the briefs of brands such as Coca-Cola, Nokia and Lego.
The Best Directing prize was awarded to the group Adhunters, who used the Lego brand; the Most Impactful prize was awarded to Creative Way for Coca-Cola Zero and the Best Creative Idea prize was awarded to the groups Imagine and Dream Producers, both of whom followed the Coca-Cola brief.
The jury, who congratulated all of the students for the work carried out in the workshop, was made up of Ricard Mamblona, the subject coordinator, and the professors who collaborated in the workshop: the Polish filmmaker Janusz Szczerek, who trained at the National Film School in Lodz, Poland, and has more than 30 years’ experience in the international audiovisual sector, and Eric Trometer, a London-based Frenchman who trained at Canterbury Christ Church University and has a wealth of experience as a filmmaker and video producer.
