"Summer holidays" Photography Competition

Competition dates

  • Inscriptions: From 6 to 27 September, 2023.
  • Exhibition of photographs: From 10 October to 7 November.

Authors

All members of the UIC Barcelona university community are eligible to enter the competition as individuals (1-3 submissions per person)

Subject matter

The idea is to take pictures that represent spring. Files containing images that violate the right to honour, personal and family privacy, self-image or UIC Barcelona's ideology will not be accepted or published.

Presentation

  • All photographs must be sent to Student Services (estudiants@uic.es): - The photographs must be in digital format: JPEG file with a minimum resolution of 1,200 pixels.
  • Each submitted photograph must have a title.

* If any of the above-mentioned information is missing or any of the requirements are not met, the photographs will be automatically disqualified.

Panel

The panel will consist of experts from UIC Barcelona, who will assess the submissions and award a prize, at their discretion, for the best compositions. However, the panel reserves the right not to award a prize if the quality of the submissions is too low. The panel's decision is not subject to appeal, and no participant may be awarded more than one prize.

Prize

A winner will be chosen from among the participants of the Campus Barcelona and a winner from among the participants of the Sant Cugat Campus. Each winner will receive a gift voucher of € 100 unchangeable in the FNAC stores.

Copyright

It will be understood that the participants authorise the reproduction of their images without limits as to systems, media or countries and free of charge. Participants will be responsible for any claims arising from the infringement of copyrights. Participation in the competition will constitute the acceptance of these terms and conditions. Decisions regarding incidents not covered under these terms and conditions will be made by the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, which will settle the matter to the best of its judgement, and are not subject to appeal.

2023- 2024 Edition

Jury

  • Jordi Play, professional photographer with extensive experience in the publishing industry, magazines and newspapers. He has worked for entities such as La Vanguardia, Grupo Planeta, Caixabank, F.C.B and many more.
  • Blanca Gaig, UIC Barcelona alumni, Graduate in Journalism and professional photographer who has created her own style throughout her more than 10 years of experience.
  • Antón Aluja, professor and researcher at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture.
