- The first Rethink the basis of Communication forum took place in 2006, in the framework of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Advertising Business Association. The great success of the event encouraged the Association to examine the possibility of setting it up as an annual debating forum for professionals in the industry.
- Since then, three events have been held in which the aim has been to provide communication professionals with valid answers adapted to the needs of the moment, through dialogue with prestigious speakers of international standing such as Jonas Ridderstrale, Paul Beelen and Mary Loy Quinlan, among others.
- Throughout its three year history, more than 1,000 professionals have passed through Rethink the basis of Communication, and have obtained the title of “Rethinkers”. Of these, 30% have come from outside Catalonia. Of those attending, 45% are advertisers (Marketing, Communication or Branding Managers and CEOs of the main brands) and 55% are advertising agencies, represented by their CEOs, General Managers and Planners.
- All of these professionals have had the opportunity of hearing speakers of international prestige from Australia, India, the Middle East, Europe, the United States and Chile.
- Rethink the basis of communication is also supported by prestigious business schools such as Esade, IESE and the University of Navarra.
