The Study Aid Olympics is an initiative organised by the NGO Coopera. The 2017-2018 academic year will mark the sixth straight year that UIC Barcelona has teamed up with this campaign, which will take place from 5 November to 5 December 2017 in the University’s libraries.
With your help, we’ll be able to provide reintegration schooling for children, victims of armed groups and military conicts still present in South Kivu of D.R. Congo.
This Coopera ONGD project will guarantee that these children return to school and complete a full cycle. Coopera will pay for their school expenses (tuition fees, uniforms and school materials) for at least three years.
Among these traumatised minors, there are former child-soldiers, boys and girls forced to fight, children who were kidnapped and/or who suered physical abuse to themselves or to their families. Regular attendance at school is a fundamental step to ensure their social reintegration.
For each hour of your study, 1 Euro will be allocated to this project so that the children of Congo can return to school and regain their lost childhood, so that the children of South Kivu can be children again!
