At UIC Barcelona, we work with the FUNDAP Foundation to promote the dignified development of individuals, based always on respect for their culture, traditions and them as people. We are active in the fight against poverty and focus our efforts on rural areas in the western part of Guatemala.
This year, 2017, the camp will take place between 21 July and 18 August in the city of Quetzaltenango.
Quetzaltenango is characterised by its wealth of natural resources (lakes, lagoons, mountains, volcanos, rivers, etc.) and the diversity of its ethnic cultures. 80% of the area’s population lives in poverty, a high percentage of which lives in extreme poverty.
During the summer camp, we will help train healthcare agents from Guatemala and give them the skills necessary to meet the healthcare needs of their communities and have a direct impact on problems relating to nutrition, hygiene and dentistry.
