
Introduction
The Master's Degree in Periodontology is a 3-year full-time postgraduate programme accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), designed to train dentists in the specialised fields of periodontics and implant dentistry.
The programme prepares accepted candidates to oversee clinical treatments, and to teach and conduct research in periodontics and surgical implant dentistry.
The course includes a theoretical unit that covers clinical topics in periodontics, seminars aimed at reviewing and analysing classical and contemporary literature, courses in surgical implant dentistry and periodontics, the relationship between periodontics and other specialised areas of dentistry, the study of clinical cases in periodontics and clinical cases that involve other areas of specialisation. During the practical part of this course, students will receive training in all kinds of periodontal treatments and will carry out an individual research project within the field of periodontics and implant dentistry.
