Introduction
The hospital practices of the IMOS are aimed to give the student a broader view of oral surgery, working with hospital surgical teams in clinical cases of patients of moderate or high surgical complexity. These practices are carried out during the first two years of the IMOS to hospitals in collaboration agreement with the UIC.
During the third year the student will consolidate their skills to oral surgery
This activity is always supervised by a specialist and is a complement to the theoretical training of students.
These are compulsory practices and carried out by groups of two or one student throughout the academic year.
Objectives
1) Learn to diagnose, plan treatment and treat cases of moderate and high complexity in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. 2) Introduction to maxillofacial surgery in different fields: oncological, glandular surgery, orthognathic surgery and oral surgery. 3) Know the sterility measures of the operative field at the hospital level. 4) Learn to work in team. 5) Completion of Master's Final Projects and research studies. 6) Consolidate and implement all the knowledge acquired during the first and second year

Syllabus
The IMOS Students have to attend the surgical activity and the sessions of the Hospitals where they practice in groups of 2 or 1 student. There will be treated various cases mainly on dentoalveolar surgery and other types of surgeries (oncological pathology of head and neck, skeletal malformations, ATM, etc)
In the "Institute of Maxillofacial Surgery" of the Teknon Clinic (Barcelona), they will be able to attend complex surgeries of orthognathic pathology, preprosthetic surgery, ATM and oncological head and neck cases. Occasionally, IMOS students may participate by assisting the surgical team during surgery.
All IMOS students must complete the book of interventions (logbook) with all the interventions carried out as main surgeons or assistants throughout the training program. This logbook will be used for the evaluation and for accreditation to the "European Board of Surgery".
