Introduction

In the event that the health authorities announce a new period of confinement due to the evolution of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, the teaching staff will promptly communicate how this may effect the teaching methodologies and activities as well as the assessment.

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is the area of dentistry that deals with the supervision, guidance and correction of growth and maturation of the craniofacial structures.

Major responsibilities of orthodontic practice include the diagnosis, prevention, interception and treatment of occlusion anomalies and associated changes in bone and soft tissue.

The orthodontist should monitor the guidance of the dentition and the relationship between their supporting structures to achieve and maintain harmonious relations between the face and cranial structures that allow the patient physiology and dento-facial aesthetics optimal.

Multidisciplinary Treatment Procedures focuses on the study of clinical situations where several professionals are involved simultaneously in the diagnosis and treatment of patients: Treatment of craniofacialanomalies, treatment of orofacial clefts, orthodontic surgical treatment, orthodontics and periodontics, and orthodontics and prosthetics treatment.
