Introduction

The objective of the preclinical seminars is to apply in a practical way and on models, artificial or animal, the theoretical knowledge previously learned about the main periodontal treatments.

 

Objectives

Practice the main periodontal treatment techniques on joint and animal models   At the end of the course the student will be able to:   1. Know the instruments and their correct use and manipulation in the scaling and root planing technique. As well as a correct technique for sharpening and maintaining the instruments.   2. Establish a correct design and surgical approach, know the instruments and their correct use and manipulation in the techniques of access, resective and lengthening of the clinical crown.

Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme

1.Understand the main diagnostic criteria for pathologies related to periodontia. 2.Understand the main prognostic criteria of pathologies related to periodontia. 3.Be able to implement and integrate the non-surgical approach. 4.Be able to implement and integrate the surgical approach. 5.Develop clinical skills both in the preparation of instruments and in the oral approach.
