Introduction
Speaking in public has become an indispensable tool in the professional field. The subject aims that the student acquires sufficient communicative abilities to transmit knowledge with clarity, to argue in a logical way and against arguing. The student will learn to formulate and express their knowledge and ideas with serenity and confidence. And it will improve their ability to listen and evaluate diverse opinions.
Pre-course requirements
To be aware of the need to know how to argue and be motivated to test your ability for debate and speak in public.
Objectives
Elaborate organized discourses: Selecting an appropriate scheme, using appropriate transitions when going from one idea to another and creating a solid introduction and conclusion
Determine the purpose of the speech: inform, persuade, entertain or inspire.
Project sincerity and conviction
Make proper use of words and your organization
Use a body language that enhances the message and greater credibility
Use the volume, tone, speed and quality of the voice to reflect meaning and interest in the message. Use pauses that enhance it and use vocal diversity directly and naturally
Select visual aids that are appropriate and use them correctly with ease and confidence
Acquire the ability to persuade people, making them understand and accept your ideas
Make assessments to other speakers, reinforcing critical thinking, feedback and motivation skills

Teaching and learning activities
In person
The course will combine practical sessions with lecture sessions by the professor. The practical sessions will include discussions, speeches and analysis of different historical arguments.
