Introduction
This subject are divided in three parts, a clinical part, a theoretical part of Advanced Periodontics and a surgical seminar. In clinical practice, the student learns to treat the patient in the different phases of periodontal treatment, to be able to diagnose and plan the most appropriate treatment, knowing all the possible treatment options. Learn to justify the treatment carried out according to scientific bases and with criteria. Clinical practice includes all phases of periodontal treatment, the interrelation with the other areas of dentistry and the importance of interdisciplinary dentistryMREA competences

The Advanced Periodontics subject reviews the indications and different surgical techniques for periodontal surgery. In the surgical seminar surgical clinical cases performed in the Periodontics department are discussed.

Teaching and learning activities
In person
Advanced Periodontics classes are taught by professors. Surgical seminars are presented by students from the periodontics department and discussed by students and teachers.
Evaluation systems and criteria
In person
Quarterly exam of the subject Advanced Periodontics. Class attendance is mandatory, only justified absences will be accepted. Tardiness due to surgical treatment prior to class is not justified. The absence of more than 25% of the classes will lead to the direct suspension of the quarter and two weeks of the clinical activity in the CUO. Repeated absences will be sanctioned with literature review works to be submitted within one week. If a seminar is missing more than 75% of the students who must attend, the seminar will be canceled.
