Introduction

In the event that the health authorities announce a new period of confinement due to the evolution of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, the teaching staff will promptly communicate how this may effect the teaching methodologies and activities as well as the assessment.

The completion of the TFM has considered an integrating exercise of the training content received and the skills acquired in the degree and, in order to unify the criteria and procedures that ensure and guarantee homogeneity in the organization and evaluation of this matter, the International University of Catalonia has an internal Regulation for Final Degree Projects and Final Master's Projects to which all official degrees offered by the UIC will be subject, regulated by Royal Decree 1393/2007, modified by Royal Decree 861/2010.

This Regulation contains the basic guidelines related to the definition, design, guardianship/direction, execution, supervision, defense, evaluation, management, and public availability of the TFM.

    • An in-depth and systematic review of a topic of relevance to emergencies and health emergencies.
  • The presentation and defense of the TFM before the TFM University Court by the student, in a way that demonstrates the ability to communicate and present the work carried out to the scientific community.

Teaching and learning activities

In person

The Final Master's Project will be carried out individually by each enrolled student, under the tutelage and accompaniment of a teacher-tutor who will guide them during their preparation. For this, individual tutorials and/or cooperative workgroups will be organized to help the student integrate the theoretical and practical teachings received throughout the master. The agreement with the humanistic profile defined by the International University of Catalonia will be taken into account.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

The TFM will be evaluated from the presentation and defense of this before a court and its evaluation will be carried out following the system of qualifications in university degrees of official character and valid throughout the national territory as contained in Royal Decree 1125/2003, of September 5 (BOE No. 224, September 18, 2003).

The evaluation is based on the evaluation of the previously mentioned competences. Each competition has its assessment indicators and learning outcomes.

100% of the TFM note corresponds to the note issued by the members of the court that will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Originality and relevance of the topic
  2. Scientific content of the TFM (literature review, scientific methodology ...)
  3. Presentation and formal aspects
  4. Exposure of the TFM in public session, the same day of the evaluation

This note will consist of 80% of the written work and 20% of the oral defense.

Bibliography and resources
