The students will be able to contact the professors during the practices and if they require a special time through a previous appointment through e-mail.

Introduction

Practice Module Nursing Care Processes in Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Pain Therapies aims to train through surgical practices that the student can function safely in the anesthesia of the different types of interventions and surgical situations always with the maximum of humanization and the safety of care.

Pre-course requirements

It is required to have a Nursing Degree or Diploma and to be registered.

Objectives

It is intended that through practices in the operating room the student develops the role of nursing in anesthesia in the preoperative, transoperative and postoperative period, especially considering the Safety of Nursing Care in the surgical process.

Learning outcomes of the subject

• Provide a quality service in the Surgical Block with efficiency and effectiveness, forming part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Apply the knowledge acquired in the instrumentation of the different surgical specialties, to correctly develop professional competence.
• Provide moral and psychological support to the patient in the preoperative period.
• Act safely and efficiently in the role of anesthesia and resuscitation nurse, detecting possible complications in the transoperative and immediate postoperative periods.
• Develop the task of perioperative nurse with an ethical and human sense, which makes it possible to incorporate good professionals who are experts in the surgical area into hospitals.

Syllabus

60 hours of internships in the different areas of anesthesia (2 weeks of internships).

Teaching and learning activities

In person



Tutored face-to-face anesthesia practices with continuous evaluation, where the student will gradually be introduced to the daily tasks of the operating room, progressively acquiring skills and responsibilities.
