Introduction

The Surgical Nursing Care Processes Practices Module of the Different Specialties aims to train through hospital practices so that the student can function safely in 1) New technologies: minimally invasive surgery, intraoperative radiotherapy, new monitoring systems, surgical robotics, etc. that need permanent recycling; 2) short-stay surgery, with its specific characteristics of pre- and post-operative care; 3) Geriatric surgery. Age by itself is not an impediment to surgical intervention, but the aging of the population makes it necessary to surgically treat patients with added morbidity that requires specific care; and 4) Emergency surgery. The implementation of pre-hospital emergency systems allows serious surgical patients to arrive at the hospital who require care that has not been available until now.
