Professional experience
I am a biologist by training and I have been linked to the world of research in the area of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry for 8 years.
I completed my doctoral thesis at the Institute of Agrobiotechnology (IdAB), in Pamplona, and during it I enjoyed a stay at the Julius-von-Sachs Institut für Biowissenschaften, a research center belonging to the University of Würzburg, in Germany.
Later I continued working at the IdAB as a researcher until I decided to orient my career towards the field of scientific communication and dissemination. I trained in the area of SciComm by pursuing a postgraduate degree in Scientific Communication at the UVic (Barcelona) and currently work on scientific communication issues in the Area of Patient Participation in Research at the Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation. At the same time, I write about science for a local cultural magazine and make specific collaborations with science blogs and magazines. I am also general secretary of the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication and coordinator of the Gender Perspective Group of said association.
