RSS

1. What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a technology that allows users to automatically receive online headlines, short news summaries, or any kind of document updated periodically, within a single interface.

With RSS format, you no longer need to search for news items on the internet; an application installed on the computer does this for you automatically.

2. How do I use RSS?

The simplest way to use RSS is to install a programme called an “aggregator” or news reader that gathers information from different sources and delivers it on a single page. Most of these applications are free (see a list of the most popular, below) and some navigators, like Firefox, Explorer or Safari, have them built in (just click on the icon with the news reader image).

Once installed, you will need to copy and paste one of the following URLs into the news reader and follow the programme’s registration instructions.
