NeuroLipid Group is interested in lipid metabolism and signaling in the nervous system.
Brain is one of the tissues with major lipid content. However neurons do not usually use lipids as energetic fuel, which suggest that brain lipids have important structural and signaling functions. In particular, we focus on the role that brain carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1C (CPT1C) plays in neuronal lipid metabolism and its implications in cognition, motor function, and regulation of food intake and energy homeostasis.
