Introduction

In this course the company is considered as a human organization. It is designed to train the student in the resolution of problems related to personal and organizational behavior. Conceptual instruments and methods are provided to analyze personal situations and forms of behavior that are relevant to the management of the company.

Objectives

The objective of this course is to transfer technical knowledge, while at the same time, having a strong practical foundation to be used by students in their future careers. Students are expected to develop the ability to interpret and resolve the problems and issues encountered in companies in connection with human behaviour, tackling these problems with rigour and improving the decision-making procedure. This will be achieved by becoming familiar with the use of conceptual tools for analysing and finding solutions to these problems. This will be done mainly through the use of appropriate case studies.

  1. To be able to identify the various elements of a company as human organisation.
  2. To be able to identify different forms of company organisation. 
  3. To understand and learn how to manage the different factors that make up human behaviour in the company. 
  4. To be able to interpret a company’s financial information in order to resolve problems concerning personnel relations.
  5. To learn to apply criteria to the decision-making process in both the short and long term and assess these processes from the personal perspective. 
  6. To be able to evaluate the economic consequences of the decisions made by various departments within the company.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person

Evaluation will be based on the following criteria:

  • Class attendance and participation in the discussion of practical cases
  • Reports about the practical cases
  • The results of two exams, partial exam and final exam.
