The subject Psychopathology of the Victim aims to deepen the understanding of the people who are victims of crime, in the three stages of the process of victimization, as well as the relationship that the lifestyle before and after the crime can be related to it.

1. Learn the legal repercussions that may arise from the different psychopathological situation.
2. To deepen in the victimology and the knowledge of the psychological-legal terminology.
3. Participate in the intervention in cases of domestic abuse, psychosocial risk, sexual abuse, delinquency favored by mental illness.
4. Prepare expert reports on these cases.
5. Attend trials to learn how ratification works in oral proceedings.
6. Analyze the factors related to the credibility of testimony.
7. Learn the fields of action of legal psychology in relation to victimology.
The aim of the subject is to facilitate the student to learn and assimilate everything related to victims. It will be a fundamentally practical subject so, later when they come across a case where they have to evaluate a victim, they know how to make a good evaluation and, consequently, they can elaborate an expert report without difficulties.
- Theoretical classes: students will be given notes on what was explained in class.
- Critical analysis of concrete and real cases, with group discussion.
- Experiences on the evaluation of testimony.
- Perform expert interventions in practical cases.
The knowledge of the student in relation to the conceptual contents of the subject will be evaluated through the realization of an individual work of deepening on some of the subjects of the previously exposed program. To carry it out the student will have the advice of the teachers of the subject.
Possible topics to work on:
Criterial systems applied to child abuse.
Sequelae of victims of sexual exploitation.
Mediation and reparation in victims of terrorism.
Analysis of judgments on gender violence: analysis and criticism.
Forensic evaluation of sexual abuse in the handicapped: a case analysis.
Memory and third age: forensic considerations of the witness, etc.
The works will have a minimum extension of 20 pages (attachments not included). The titles, indexes and/or schemes will be reviewed and previously accepted by the professor of the subject in the fifth class of the subject (March 29, 2019).
The works will be delivered in digital format (Word), with line spacing 1,5 and letter 12, until the day of presentation in class.
There will be a 20-minute oral presentation about the written work.
