  • Textbooks, scientific journals, bibliographic databases, directories, search engines and other multiple information sources offer a great variety of possibilities to document itself in the initial phase of a research project.
  • This subject aims to get knowledge on tehniques and information resources that lead the user to get relevant and efficient results.

FINAL EXAM Bibliographic Research

Objective of the final exam:

The objective of this exercise will consist on searching bibliographic references on the "research topic you are working on" for this Master course in the Pubmed/Medline health bibliographic database (www.pubmed.gov).

How to proceed:

1.- Begin by writing a brief abstract (three or four paragraphs) describing the topic you are studying and point out which is the research question you are trying to answer.

2.- Which concepts (key terms or keywords) do you choose to build your search?

3.- How are you going to combine the selected terms with the Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT)?

4.- Which items of the LIMITS can be useful for you to refine your search?

5.- Select from 10 to 15 of the most relevant references retrieved in Pubmed databases and transfer them into your exam in Vancouver format.

How to deliver your exam: Go into the Moodle platform, enter into the Subject space of "Bibliographic Research" and go to the "Final EXAM" Label or though the route:  Home > Courses > 2018/2019 > Anual > 11523-2018-ANNUAL > General > Final EXAM where you will be allow to post your exam.

Final deadline: December 20, 2018
