Smart is an easy to install/configure, flexible and very effective tool for monitoring and rebooting local services and daemons.
To decide whether a service needs to be rebooted, Smart considers the number of active processes as well as the responses to real requests. Smart operation is centralized in one script, thus it allows a simple integration with Sudo, delegating administrative actions to a user with non-root-privileges.
