We have created our own unique curriculum, which manages to cover the different areas of audiovisual communication over its four-year duration: journalism, advertising and public relations. The aim of the curriculum is to prioritise new material which is adapted to current trends in the profession and offers a comprehensive education for future communicators.

Our teaching staff represent a strong link between the university and the professional world. For that reason, we have a teaching body that consists of doctors, researchers and active professionals, from the different fields of audiovisual communication, such as journalism, and advertising and public relations. Together this team is able to offer students a individually-focused and good quality education, which encourages their skills and abilities to the maximum degree possible, through the transmission of experience, knowledge and values.

In the UIC's Faculty of Communication Sciences we have created a large network of cooperation with the most significant companies and institutions in the sector. Because of this network we are able to offer professional work placements to our students in more than 250 companies, depending on their own profile and aspirations. This is a great opportunity to acquire experience in different fields, and, at the same time, broaden personal networks.

We offer students the opportunity to acquire knowledge about exciting professions related to the audiovisual, communication, journalism and advertising and public relations fields, through various learning activities which go beyond lectures. These include workshops, seminars, laboratories, meeting points with important guests, and coaching etc. Additionally, we guarantee continuous assessment, which not only takes into account the results obtained from a single exam.

At the UIC we have created alliances all around the world, in order to encourage mobility and student exchanges with other universities. We prioritise English as the main teaching language in our curriculum and organise workshops entirely in English which are coordinated by active professionals.
