Students explain their experience
At UIC Barcelona, we offer a unique and enriching experience

In the Faculty, we have created a student association known as Paideia to increase our knowledge and organise conferences, sessions outside the university, visits, etc.

I chose UIC Barcelona because I could start using the television studio in year one and gain lots of television experience. I was lucky enough to be able to put my passion, presenting the news, into practice.

Complete part of your degree or work placement abroad and gain academic credit
Spend a semester or full academic year at one of your Faculty’s partner universities or look for an international company in which to do a job placement. You may also earn ECTS credits with the summer sessions at Berkeley (the world’s best public university), complement your education with an international degree at Iona College (New York) or even do a postgraduate degree at UCLA (Los Angeles)
Professors and lecturers with extensive academic and research experience
The teaching staff in the Faculty consists of professionals from various disciplines, including Humanities. For example, History, Philosophy, Literature and History of Art. All our permanent teaching staff hold PhDs and have extensive research experience, a fact that allows them to provide a comprehensive education to students, and to focus on their personal and professional development. Our professors and lecturers maintain strong ties to the professional sectors related to humanistic disciplines, a fact which allows students to learn at first-hand about the various professional opportunities these studies will offer.
Presentation
In an era of information overload and multiple channels of communication, the immediacy of information consumption and the speed with which messages are transmitted leave us with less and less time for critical thinking and reflection.
Today's society needs professionals that adhere to the basic principle of journalism: to transmit information that is accurate and has been verified. For this reason, the journalist with humanistic training is vital for the future development of the media in the 21st-century.
UIC Barcelona's Double Degree in Humanities and Journalism will teach you how to meet these challenges by showing you how to study and describe our sociocultural reality in a systematic and principled manner.
