We train jurists, not just graduates in law
This Master's Degree is one of the best of its kind for three reasons: in a single programme you will receive all the possible advice and litigation content from a wholly practical perspective; you will be taught on the basis of case studies, recognised as a highly effective methodology; and finally, you will have the best teaching team, from the legal world and professional practice.
Reasons to study this Master
- Practical training
Case studies as a teaching methodology leads to extremely practical training. - Teaching team
A high percentage of teaching staff come from the legal world, including lawyers, judges, registrars, notaries and government employees. - Individual attention
The small class sizes help us better gauge your abilities and potential for personal and professional development. - Bar exam
You will have the chance to take the fast track course and prepare for the bar exam, which all students from the 2016-2017 graduating class passed.
Additional information
Presentation
The Master's Degree in the Legal Profession at UIC Barcelona is unique because:
- In one programme it covers all aspects of advice and litigation in a practical manner.
- Teaching is based on case studies, with the use of role-playing to simulate real professional situations. The Faculty has exclusive facilities such as a mock courtroom.
- The teaching staff come from the legal world and are active professionals.
- The course offers students the option to take the fast track bar exam preparation course.
- You may choose from two optional tracks:
- Development of professional competences (soft-skills), which range from negotiation techniques to leadership skills and emotional intelligence.
- Specialised legal training, with a focus on the methodology applicable to the competitive bar exam.
Developed in collaboration with the Barcelona Bar Association, includes a specific semester of work placements in major legal firms which take part in the programme.
Some of the legal firms involved in the Master's Degree, in both teaching and work experience, include: Amat & Vidal-Quadras Advocats, Baker & Mckenzie, Cuatrecasas, EY, Garrigues, Manubens, Roca Junyent, Uría Menéndez, among others.
Objectives
The main objective of this programme, which is clearly vocational, is to enable students to enter the legal profession. We would like students to be able to apply in daily practice the theoretical knowledge they have acquired from their undergraduate law degree, using real situations of professional counsel and litigation or forensic procedures to help them to pass the bar access examination. The results of recent years show that we are suceeding.
Practical and innovative methodology
- Dynamic and participatory classes
- Mock trials
- Case studies
- Learning outside the classroom
Who it is aimed at. Applicant profile
The ideal applicant profile is someone with a degree in law, a strong interest in practising in the legal profession and the desire to access professional practice with the best preparation. An undergraduate law degree or equivalent qualification demonstrating that you have the legal competencies stipulated by the regulations is essential.
Competences: Graduates
The Master’s Degree in the Legal Profession will help you develop the competences specific to the profession without forgetting human and personal values. The aim is to provide students comprehensive knowledge of advice and litigation and enhance their ability to work individually and as a team.

At the end of the first academic year, the student will receive an enrolment form corresponding to the second year, and must make the payment by the stipulated deadline.

Those who have been accepted on the course will receive an admission letter, subject to payment to reserve a place.
A place must be reserved by paying 20% of the total amount for the first year into a La Caixa bank account, within 15 calendar days from receipt of the admission notification.
Once a place is formally reserved as stated, if a person does not meet the course admission requirements in accordance with the national or autonomous community legislation in force at any time or does not have the qualification required, or if the course is not formalised due to low enrolment, UIC Barcelona will return the amount paid to reserve the place in full.
If the student voluntarily withdraws from the course for any reason, UIC Barcelona will retain in full the sum received to reserve the place, with no reimbursement obligation, as compensation for the damage and loss caused.
