Professors and lecturers with extensive academic and research experience

The teaching staff in the Faculty consists of professionals from various disciplines, including Humanities. For example, History, Philosophy, Literature and History of Art. All our permanent teaching staff hold PhDs and have extensive research experience, a fact that allows them to provide a comprehensive education to students, and to focus on their personal and professional development. Our professors and lecturers maintain strong ties to the professional sectors related to humanistic disciplines, a fact which allows students to learn at first-hand about the various professional opportunities these studies will offer.


The double degree in Humanities and Cultural Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science will be studied between Barcelona and New York.  First you will do four years at UIC Barcelona and afterwards a further year at Iona College New York.  Therefore in five years you will obtain a Bachelor's degree in Humanities and Cultural Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Both degrees are officially recognised: the Bachelor's degree in Humanities and Cultural Studies is official in Spain and the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science is official in the United States.

Prerequisites & admissions

Admission requirements

To take the second bachelor's degree at Iona College in New York, you must:

  1. Complete a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities at UIC Barcelona and pay your tuition fees.
  2. Have the required level of English (in this case, a score of 80 n the TOEFL exam).
