Presentation
Introduction
At present, BPD is regarded as the personality disorder with the largest impact in the field of healthcare due to its clinical severity and high prevalence. It is estimated to affect between 1 and 2% of the general population and may affect between 10 and 20% of all psychiatric patients.
BPD is considered a highly complex disorder both in terms of diagnosis and treatment. For that reason, in order to improve the prognosis of people suffering from this disorder, it is important to be able to provide early diagnosis, identify disorders that interfere in its evolution and know how to apply the basic strategies for treatment with most scientific support.
