Cooperation Grant

Presentation

Cooperation grantholders undertake research activities inside a department at the University, as well as providing support for a service at the institution, which are both valuable undertakings in terms of students’ learning.

Requirements

Any students who are interested in applying for this Cooperation Grant must have ten hours available per week in order to work either morning or afternoon shifts (weekends can be included) in any of the University’s services, departments or faculties.

Students of any bachelor’s, master's or postgraduate degree at UIC Barcelona may apply for a Cooperation Grant. Candidates must be under 25 years of age.

The grantholder will be paid per hour. This means that they will not receive remuneration for the days they do not work: holidays, exam weeks and justified absences.

The timetable will be adapted to the needs of the department, service or faculty for which they are working, as long as the student is able to prioritise their academic calendar. The grant must not negatively interfere with students’ learning.

Chosen candidates will demonstrate their ability to combine their studies with a commitment to their grant through their academic record.

The duration of the grant will be up to ten months (from September to June), which is the same length of time as the academic year. This may also be extended to July if the person responsible for the grantholder considers it necessary.

The Cooperation Grant will be subject to Royal Decree 1493/2011 of 24 October, which means that grantholders will be registered in the Social Security system under the conditions reserved for that category.

Documentation

Interested students must apply through the intranet, uploading a copy of their national ID card or NIE card and a copy of their current account bank statement, where they appear as the account holder or joint holder.
