Online courses available at eight levels, from Pre-Elementary (A1) to Proficiency (C2), which include one individual tutoring session per unit.
All members of the university community (students, PAS and PDI) and External students
You have the option to register for either a full course (5.5 ECTS) or a partial course (2.75 ECTS).
Full course: 120 hours of study material (10 units), equal to one full level of language knowledge (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) under the CEFR.
Partial course: 60 hours of study material (5 units), equal to half a level of language knowledge under the CEFR.
Where and when?
The course is offered through an online platform that allows you to do the exercises at your pace; all you need is a computer and Internet connection. All the units have voice recognition, for practising and improving pronunciation and oral expression, and a wide variety of tools and features to enhance learning. To see a sample course, click here. In addition to the online work, the full course includes 10 tutorials, and the partial course, 5. The tutorials are held at the end of each unit. Tutorials are individual or in small groups and can be carried out at the Barcelona Campus or the Sant Cugat Campus, or virtually.

Certificate of completion. To earn a certificate, you must successfully complete all online activities and attend all tutoring sessions.
If you are a UIC Barcelona undergraduate student, you can request recognition of 2 ECTS credits (full course) or 1 credit (partial course) for taking the course. If you are an Erasmus student, you can include this course in your learning agreement. For mobility students, the number of credits recognised for this course will depend on your home university.
