What?

An online course with the Parla.cat platform (4 ECTS) that will help you consolidate your knowledge of Catalan grammar, express yourself with a rich and varied repertoire of structures when speaking and writing and produce suitable and well-structured texts on complex social, academic and professional topics. This course includes a final C1-level (CEFR) CLUC exam, which could earn you a certificate recognised by the Government of Catalonia.

Who?

All members of the university community (students, PAS and PDI)

How?

An online semester-long course consisting of 75 hours of autonomous study on the Parla.cat platform and 10 on-site tutorials.

Where and when?

Half of the on-site tutorials will take place on the Barcelona Campus and the other half on the Sant Cugat Campus, unless all the students enrolled are from the same campus.

The dates and times for the on-site tutorials are as follows: 

Tutorials for the course in Semester 1 on Tuesdays from 13 to 14 p.m.; 17 and 24 October; 7,14, 21 and 28 November; 12 December; 16, 23 and 30 January. 

Tutorials for the course in Semester 2 on Thursdays from 13 to 14 a.m.; 15 and 23 February; 7 and 20 March; 11, 18 and 25 April; 2, 23 and 30 May.

  • UIC Barcelona PDI and PAS: €150
  • UIC Barcelona students: €100

Certification

An advanced C1-level Catalan certificate recognised by the Government of Catalonia. To earn a certificate, you must successfully complete at least 80% of the activities on the Parla.cat platform and pass the CLUC C1 exam or CLUC C1 exam for PDI.

Credit recognition

This course has a workload of 4 ECTS credits. If you are a UIC Barcelona undergraduate student, you can request recognition of 2 ECTS credits for taking the course. If you are an Erasmus student, you can include this course in your learning agreement. For mobility students, the number of credits recognised for this course will depend on your home university. Level test

To take this course, you must have knowledge equivalent to level C1.1 of the CEFR. To make sure you have the level required to register for the C1.2-level course, we ask that you complete the following level test:
