CLUC CertAcles is a language proficiency certificate issued by the twelve Catalan universities. It is approved by the Inter-University Council of Catalonia, accredited by ACLES (the Spanish Association of Language Centres in Higher Education) and recognised by the CRUE (the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities).

CLUC exams bear the CertAcles seal and are recognised by the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education (CERCLES), of which 22 European countries are currently members. Therefore, CLUC serves to certify the candidate’s level of English in Spain and across Europe.

It is a single-level examination, meaning it assesses and certifies only levels B2 and C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in the four basic language skills (oral and written expression, and oral and written comprehension) with a university guarantee.

The CLUC accredits the language level students need to graduate from bachelor’s degree studies at Catalan universities; it can be recognised as credits (click here to see the requirements) and can also be useful for mobility placements and accessing scholarships or grants.
