UIC Barcelona-specific certificates

The Government of Catalonia's Department of Education and Department of Economy and Knowledge govern the recognition of language competence certification in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in the form of qualifications, diplomas and certificates issued by competent universities and institutions.

UIC Barcelona, through the Institute for Multilingualism, awards institution-specific English certificates to students who pass our on-site language courses.

The cost of enrolling in these courses includes the cost of the exam. Students who pass the exam will receive a Catalan university-specific B2 or C1 certificate, which you can use to certify your level prior to graduation.

UIC Barcelona-specific certificates are recognised throughout the Catalan education system. They will therefore enable you to certify the level you need to complete a bachelor's degree at a Catalan university and are also useful when applying for mobility programmes and grants.

If you certify a B2 level of language competence through one of the courses offered by UIC Barcelona, you are eligible for a grant to cover part of the enrolment fees.

The application deadline for the 2017-2018 academic year is 30 September 2018.
