Professor Federico Hernández Alfaro guest speaks at the 2018 Surgery First Summit
The full professor and head of the Area of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UIC Barcelona was the only surgeon invited to this prestigious international event as an expert in orthognathic surgery
On 27 August, Dr Hernández Alfaro, a full professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, delivered a talk entitled “On an Adequate Timing for Orthognathic Surgery” at the 2018 Surgery First Summit in Japan.
A pioneer in the application of this technique, Dr Federico Hernández Alfaro is one of the world’s most authoritative voices and an opinion leader in this field. Dr Hernández’s speech focused on the new timing schemes for treating dentomaxillofacial deformities that emerged following the introduction of new minimally invasive orthodontic and surgical techniques.
The Surgery First Summit was created with the aim of becoming an international platform where, under the motto “Shorter, safer and with higher certainty”, the world’s leading experts in orthognathic surgery can exchange knowledge and techniques in the area of orthofacial surgery.
