Update on measures restricting on-site teaching activity at the university
To all members of the university community:
Given the current concerns over the pandemic and following several meetings between the Ministry of Health, the Secretariat for Universities and Research and rectors from all Catalan universities, it has been agreed that all theoretical classes will be taught online across the entire university system.
Practical classes, assessment activities and others that require students’ on-site attendance, such as research activities, are exempt from this agreement. This measure will come into force on 15 October, and will remain so until 30 October (inclusive).
All universities, ours included, have already implemented the pertinent safety protocols to ensure the health of everyone at our institution. The Ministry of Health considers our provision of these measures to be exemplary and has deemed universities to be safe places of work and study. These new guidelines aim to reduce the movement of university students and therefore help to slow the increase in COVID-19 infections.
