We offer the option to request documents that are not in our library through an inter-library loan.

Who can use this service?

  • Teaching and Research Staff (PDI)
  • Postgraduate students
  • Staff from associated hospitals that have an agreement with UIC Barcelona

What kind of documents can you ask for?

Any kind of document not available in the library, originals or copies, in any format, from anywhere in Spain or any country worldwide.

Old or fragile material may not be used. Some reference materials may also not be available for loan. Some libraries provide a copy in the most suitable format instead of the original. These may include: photocopy, PDF, etc.

Materials obtained through this service are for private, teaching or research use only.

How do I request a document via the inter-library loan system?

Access to the library catalogue CercaUIC and start your search.

Where do I collect the documents?

  • In digital format

Documents are sent electronically through the GTBIB program.

  • In paper format

You can pick them up in person at the campus library where they were requested. University loans are usually for one month, with the option to extend the due date. Some books must not be taken out of the library.

You must personally return books in the same condition as you received them and before the due date established by the library on the Barcelona Campus or Sant Cugat Campus, depending on where you requested them.

Copies must be made and used in accordance with current legislation on intellectual property and based on international agreements.
