Holder of a PhD in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and in Canon Law from the Pontifical University of Santa Croce (Roma). She has worked as a lecturer and researcher in both Italy and Spain.
She joined the Institute as a researcher in 2005 and has directed it since 2012. Since 2013, she has directed the Intergenerational Solidarity within the Family Chair (IsFamily Santander Chair) and, since 2017, the Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation’s Childcare and Family Policies Chair. She is also vice-dean of Teaching Staff and Research in the Faculty of Law at UIC Barcelona.
She has published seven books and over fifty articles in her field of study.
Rita Cavalloti Oldani
Assistant Director Research
Holder of a PhD in Political Science from the Università degli Studi di Milano. Holder of a master’s degree in Marriage and Family (University of Navarra) and a PhD in Humanities (UIC Barcelona).
She is currently assistant director of Research for the and coordinator of the IsFamily Santander Chair.
She specialises in in-company work and ethics applied to the family. She is also a lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities at UIC Barcelona, where she teachers Social Thought and Sociology.
Notable publications include the book Conciliación trabajo-familia: una perspectiva relacional (Editorial Académica Española) [Work-Family Reconciliation: A Relational Perspective].
M. Pilar Lacorte Tierz
Assistant Director Teaching
Ms Tierz holds a degree in law from the University of Zaragoza. She is a lawyer who specialises in family-related issues. She has a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family in the University of Navarra.
She joined the IESF in 2005, and was involved in designing the Postgraduate Degree in marriage and Family Education programme. She has been a Coordinator and tutor on this Postgraduate programme from the beginning.
Javier Vidal-Quadras Trías de Bes
Assistant Director Family Guidance
Mr Vidal-Quadras has been the Assistant Director of the IESF since 2005. He is a lawyer and a co-founder of Amat & Vidal-Quadras solicitors, where he exercices his profession. He is the General Secretary of the International Federation for Family Development (IFFD), a federation which has been awarded with a General Consultative Status by the UN, and Vice-president of the FERT Association, in Barcelona, dedicated to Family Guidance.
He is the author of two educational books: Después de amar te amaré on love in marriage and Un paseo en bicicleta por la vida which deals with the issue education in feelings, as well as three works of fiction.
Consuelo León Llorente
Director of the Observatory on Family Policies
Holder of an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of Navarra and a PhD in Business Administration from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
She has worked for a number of media as well as the International Centre for Work and Family (ICWF) at IESE Business School. She has published six books and a host of articles on the situation of women in the job market, work-family balance and family policies.
She is currently director of the Family Policies Observatory, responsible of communication of the Institute and member of the IsFamily Santander Chair and the Childcare and Family Policies Chair (Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation).
Ana Vañó Mayor
Secretary of the Institute of Advanced Family Studies (IESF)
She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Valencia.
She has performed executive functions in the Department of Information and Admissions at UIC Barcelona. She is currently academic officer of the Institute for Advanced Family Studies. Her role includes teaching and academic management, communication and marketing support and the promotion of events for the Institute.
Holder of an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from ESADE, a master’s degree in Political and Social Sciences from the Pompeu Fabra University and a master’s degree in Business Management from ESADE. Holder of a PhD in Social Policies from the University of Edinburgh.
He has worked in a number of companies and as a researcher in the International Centre for Work and Family (ICWF) at the IESE Business School.
He is currently a research fellow in the Women and Public Policy Program (Harvard University) and a researcher for the Childcare and Family Policies Chair (Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation). His research interests lie in the role of the father, work-family balance, childcare and family policies.
Master in Political Science (1998) and Doctor in Sociology and Social Research Methodology at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milano (2006). Francesco Marcaletti has been a research associate in the Department of Sociology at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milano and a member of Steering Committee of WWELL Research Centre (welfare, labor, business, lifelong learning).
Since 2016 he joined at the Institute of Advanced Family Studies as researcher associated of Santander IsFamily Solidarity Chair. He has a lot of publications about several impacts of the demographic change at social and economics levels.
Ignasi de Bofarull
He has a degree in History and geography from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for which he received a special distinction. He has worked as a Bacchalaureate teacher, making it compatible with the task of being a Family Guidance officer, in which he has specialised in the subject of family leisure time. He has written various books and articles on this subject in specialised journals.
Since 2006 he has been working with the IESF, as a researcher. He is a lecturer in Family Sociology in the Faculty of Education in the UIC and has been an adjunct lecturer in this subject since 2013. His lines of research focus on the resilience of family in the face of the various life cycles and agents in the contemporary world.
Dr Camps has a degree in Geography and History from the University of Barcelona, and a PhD in Education from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. He has been working as a Researcher in the Institute for Advanced Family Studies since 2005.
He has cooperated on the implementation of Equality Plans in schools, and has presented papers on single-gender education at various international conferences. In 2010 he published a book summarising his research in these fields. He is currently Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education in the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, where he teaches Social Psychology and Educational Psychology.
Dr Verdera has a degree in History and Geography from the University of Barcelona. She has a PhD from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. Her thesis was on education on rules and order. She is currently a Family Psychology lecturer and is studying towards a doctorate in the UIC.
She is the author of two educational books: Los dos años: una edad decisiva M. Teresa Rodo Foundation and Educar: preparando para la vida. She has also written about competence-based education for children as the foundation for an organised proposal between the family and the school .
