Introduction

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is the area of dentistry that deals with the supervision, guidance and correction of growth and maturation of the craniofacial structures.

Major responsibilities of orthodontic practice include the diagnosis, prevention, interception and treatment of occlusion anomalies and associated changes in bone and soft tissue.

The orthodontist should monitor the guidance of the dentition and the relationship between their supporting structures to achieve and maintain harmonious relations between the face and cranial structures that allow the patient physiology and dento-facial aesthetics optimal.

General Orthodontic subjets introduces the student to the proper orthodontic treatment and includes diagnostic aspects, development of the treatment plan and treatment effects, and cephalometric analysis using overlays.

Pre-course requirements
