Introduction

The Online Master's Department of Dental Aesthetics offers a 12-month training program called Direct and Indirect Operative Dentistry which provides each graduate student with the opportunity to improve their knowledge in three main areas: research, clinical training and teaching.

Participating dentists undergo very intensive clinical training and, at the same time, follow a rigorous academic curriculum aimed at reviewing scientific literature.

Objectives

The objective is to integrate a more extensive research in education for clinical preparation in private practice related to Operative, fulfilling the bases of making a more conservative and minimally invasive treatment.

By completing the program successfully, the participant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Management of patients with caries risk based on Caries Management by Risk Assessment (CAMBRA)
  • Discuss current direct and indirect dental restorative materials (ceramic, glass ionomer cement, and resin matrix composite), including indications and contraindications for their clinical use.
  • Performing routine dental restorative procedures.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge base on dental restorative materials and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the current scientific literature on restorative dentistry.
