Case method for the analysis and resolution of clinical cases in class.

Pre-course requirements

Having passed Case Method I

Objectives

The objective of this course is to expose elalumno clinical cases of patients treated at the University Clinic of Dentistry. These cases will be presented by students including medical records, x-rays, photographs, and describing and claiming their therapeutic orientation that will be discussed by the other students and teachers of the master. This clinical documentation will be treated in accordance with the laws protecting patient data.

Those complex cases that pose various therapeutic options must be accompanied by the relevant literature review updated so that at the end of the training program of the Master, students will have obtained a theoretical training on all related pathology restorative dentistry pediatric patient .

The exhibitions will be held before the other fellow first and second year and several teachers of the department, so the student should be able to answer the questions or issues that may arise during exposure.

Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme

- Make a right extraoral and intraoral diagnosis.

- Conduct a therapeutic approach to each case.

- Be able to make public presentations on own clinical cases justified based on the scientific literature.

- Have the ability to communicate with parents or guardians to explain scientific criteria, but accessible language, diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis.

Learning outcomes of the subject

- The student will learn to correctly use scientific terminology related to oral pathology and restorative dentistry child patient.

- The student is able to make public presentations on clinical cases, with all diagnostic details and additional examinations required.

  - The student will acquire knowledge necessary to propose loc plans referenced in the literature treatments.

The methodology is based on oral presentations of clinical cases of patients treated at the University Dental Clinic.

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person



The student will be assessed in different ways:

- Quality of the presentation.

- Exexpresión oral and aesthetics.

- Participation in joint discussions of the different cases presented by other students.

- Responsiveness to the issues that may arise during exposure of the case.

The evaluation will be continuous throughout the course.
