Grants and funding

The Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR), through the Parla3 programme, provides funding for students who began a bachelor's degree at a Catalan university for the first time during or after the 2014-2015 academic year and have certified a B1, B2.1 or B2.2 level of language competence under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) through courses offered by the Catalan universities, the Official School of Languages (EOI) or the Open Institute of Catalonia (IOC).

 

There are two types of grants available:

Type A: CLUC B2 English Exam

AGAUR provides grants to help cover the cost of registration for the common language proficiency certificate offered by Catalan Universities (CLUC) for students who began a bachelor's degree at a Catalan university for the first time during or after the 2014-2015 academic year and who have taken and passed the exam at a B2 level of knowledge (taken as B2.2) under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

  • Maximum amount that can be awarded: €50
  • Application period: 1 April to 30 September 2021

Type B: B2-level or B2.1 or B2.2-sublevel third language courses

This grant is available to any students who enrol in and successfully complete a B2.1 or B2.2-sublevel or B2-level language course at UIC Barcelona during the year of the call. In the latter case, to successfully complete the course and earn an official certificate, students are required to pass a final exam in which they are assessed in all four areas of language knowledge (listening, speaking, reading and writing).

  • Maximum amount that can be awarded: €350
  • Application period: 1 April to 30 September 2021
