Workshop on "How to successfully survive in a student flat"

A workshop divided into three theoretical-practical sessions that will provide participants with practical information to help them improve their quality of life. Participants will learn how to maintain a healthy diet, ensure their flat is clean and in good condition, etc. which helps coexistence in flats and promotes good relationships.  All this also has an impact at an academic level.

Times: Wednesdays from 2.30 to 3.30 p.m.

Dates: 21, 28 September 2022

Location: P0A09. Sant Cugat campus

Registration: For UIC Barcelona students only. Places are limited. Each individual session is independent and you are not required to attend all of them. Register by filling in the form below.

Sessions and description:

1. Introduction and basic ideas about how to manage a flat: organisation, communication, living with others, rules.
Healthy food: fast, easy and healthy recipes; food storage and refrigeration.

  • Speaker: Elena Olóndriz. Bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Pompeu Fabra Univerity.  Service Management Development Programme. Training course in professional cookery at Hofmann Catering School.

2. Cleaning and maintenance: tidying and cleaning the flat quickly and efficiently, basic materials and cleaning products, organisation, simple fixes, the environment.

  • Speaker:  Mar Raventós. Undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Lleida. Postgraduate degree in Food and Housing Services Management.

3. Financial management: optimisation of resources, purchases, accounting.
Looking after clothes: cleaning, ironing, stains, basic fixes and storage.

  • Speaker: Denise Reddig. Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Barcelona. Master's degree in service management and teaching. Works on educational projects in the area of catering and hospitality.
